200 participated in the information and partner search forum in Minsk

Almost 200 participants gathered for the information and partner search forum in Minsk on 18 February. The majority of the potential applicants came from Belarus. EU Member States were also represented by participants from Latvia, Lithuania, Estonia and Germany.

Representatives from national, regional and local authorities, NGOs as well as academic sector received the main information on the Baltic Sea Region Programme and the 3rd call for project proposals. The main concerns of the participants were how to find partners, financial issues and the Belarusian national legislation and approval procedure.

Belarusian partners from the approved projects presented inspiring stories how organisations from this country joined a transnational project, contributed with their expertise and gained benefit from the cooperation.

Around 30 project ideas were received for the event. Several participants managed to identify potential project partners. A few organisations are going to apply in the running or the next call for proposals.

The event was arranged by the Regional Capacity Building initiative in cooperation with the Joint Technical Secretariat of the Baltic Sea Region Programme. It was supported by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Belarus and Coordinating Unit of Belarus for the EU Tacis Programme.
