5th call: project ideas under development

Five project ideas on multi-level governance and three ideas on Baltic Sea Region branding were presented at the project development workshops in Riga 25-27 January. The aim of the workshops was to support the development of project proposals for the 5th call for applications.

The Joint Technical Secretariat (JTS) gave guidance on how to avoid common weaknesses in project applications. A special attention is to be paid on describing the problem to be solved, target groups, activities and durability of project outcomes. As there are limited funds left in the Programme, the project developers discussed possibilities to develop joint project proposals. The discussion continues. After the workshops the JTS had individual project consultations with the project idea promoters.

The Baltic Sea Region Programme's 5th call for applications is open from 9 January 2012 until 29 March 2012. The call is open for projects implementing the two horizontal actions of the EU Strategy for the Baltic Sea Region's Action Plan: "strengthening multi-level governance" and "build a regional identity". The Joint Technical Secretariat gives feedback to project ideas and offers individual project consultations in its Rostock and Riga offices until 16 March 2012.
