Amber Coast Logistics hands over recommendations to high-ranking politicians

Hamburg, 27 February 2014: One highlight of the ACL closing conference last week in Hamburg: Project manager Marina Rimpo, Port of Hamburg Marketing, handed over the final brochure of the project to high-ranking politicians – among others to James Pond, Senior Advisor for the TEN-T Corridor “North Sea-Baltic” of the European Commission. “ACL has shown how important it is to plan national transport and logistics strategies not only with a view to national interests. The politicians are also called upon in this respect,” said Rimpo. In addition to Pond, Andreas Rieckhof, State Secretary of the City of Hamburg, Ministry of Economy, Transport and Innovation, and Uwe Beckmeyer, Parliamentary State Secretary to the German Federal Ministry for Economic Affairs and Energy and coordinator of the German Federal government for the maritime sector, were among the first recipients of the recommendations for action. “We hope that consideration will be given to the results that we have elaborated within the framework of ACL in your further political work,” added Rimpo. The brochure summarizes the studies that have been conducted in 30 months of project lifetime and the resultant recommendations for action. Interviews with project partners and the business sector as well as a retrospect on how ACL promoted transnational cooperation in the southern and eastern Baltic Sea region round the final brochure out.
