At Via Nordica 2012

Making Europe an attractive place to live, work and invest in is a main target on a political, economical and environmental point of view. One way of highlighting the beneficial outputs from BALTRIS was to participate the Via Nordica congress 2012, visited by about 850 persons from 18 different countries.

No matter where in Europe we decide to spend our time, transportation is part of our everyday life. Despite EU's Vision Zero too many lives are still lost in traffic. A safer road infrastructure safety is an essential and crucial part of improving the situation for all Europeans and necessary to save life, health and money. The BALTRIS project has developed ready to apply-tools for improving road infrastructure safety. We have achieved the point from where to spread the acquired, increased and concentrated knowledge and give possibility for improvements to other states within Europe.

Unique ways of training
The output of BALTRIS is related to the complex system of the road infrastructure safety management, giving recommendations for best practices and guidelines. The project has developed unique ways of trainings based on these guidelines. To exchange experience is a successful way to make a difference in traffic safety. The BALTRIS exhibition stand at Via Nordica had the aim to reach as many participants at the congress as possible.

Having a complex approach of road infrastructure safety management it is essential to find the right persons to find a link towards exchanging experience and have a fruitful future transnational cooperation based on the outputs of BALTRIS, improving the life of European inhabitants.
