HealthPort Innovation Competition - Dead line for applications 15 August
Objective
The competition boosts the commercial utilization of ideas arising from the clinical environment and healthcare research. Awards will be granted to ideas and inventions in the area of healthcare and medical technology (e.g. medical and therapeutic tools and technologies, diagnostics, laboratory and hospital equipment and technology) and related services. The idea or invention should enable developing and commercializing a product or service that benefits patients and attracts potential investors.
Target group
Clinical practitioners, research teams or private persons(s) and innovative SMEs in the Baltic Sea Region in addition with the neighbouring region Northern Netherlands.
Awards
The winners will be entitled to customised expert coaching to support and accelerate the commercialization process of their inventions and to raise funding for further development. The Jury will select two to six winners for Stage 1 coaching "From idea to business case". The most promising case(s) will then be selected to enter Stage 2 "Getting ready for investment". Winners will also be granted free participation to 10th ScanBalt Forum to be held in Heringsdorf, Mecklenburg-Vorpommern, Germany, on 21-24 September 2011.
Timetable
The competition is open for applications between 4th May and 15th August, 2011. The Award Ceremony will be held at 10th ScanBalt Forum in Heringsdorf, Mecklenburg-Vorpommern, Germany, on 21-24 September, 2011. Stage 1 coaching will begin in October 2011 and Stage 2 coaching will take place in 2013.
How to participate?
The official language of the competition is English. The application and all documents and presentations must be filled in English. Applications can be submitted between 4th May and 15th August.
