Belarusian partners received training on programme and national rules

Almost 100 participants took part in the two day training workshop for Belarusian partners and their lead partners in Minsk on 21-22 February. Representatives from all 19 projects with partners from Belarus (2nd, 3rd and 4th calls) joined the event. The main purpose of the workshop was to support project partners, first level controllers operating in Belarus and lead partners in carrying out their daily project routines. The two days were devoted to:

  • implementation of EU funded projects in Belarus within the Baltic Sea Region Programme and
  • procurement procedures within EU funded projects in Belarus.

The participants were especially interested in the topics of eligibility of costs and national requirements of the project implementation in Belarus and asked many detailed and specific questions. Procuring services, supplies and works by Belarusian partners, while respecting both the EU and Belarusian legislation, also initiated many discussions. The experts from the Belarusian Ministry of Economy came up with ad hoc advice on procurement and other national procedures. However, some of the issues will still need to be discussed further.

The training was arranged by the Joint Technical Secretariat of the Baltic Sea Region Programme with the support from the INTERACT ENPI and the Regional Capacity Building Initiative.
