C.A.S.H. - 40 opinion leaders attend transport seminar in Brussels

The C.A.S.H. seminar 'Making international road transport safer: C.A.S.H. project aims to develop practical solutions' took place in Brussels on 28 April 2010.

The event brought together 40 participants, ranging from EU officials, representatives from ministries, national and regional offices, non-governmental organisations and haulage companies to police officers. The seminar was moderated by Mr Roland Gildemeister from Hamburg Waterways Police.

The presentations introduced the project and its aims. They also set the scene in terms of road haulage legislation and operational procedures of police authorities. A European Commission spokesperson talked about funding for the project and similar ventures.

The seminar was organised jointly by the Turku School of Economics (University of Turku) and Turku-Southwest Finland European Office in Brussels. The venue was Hotel Silken Berlaymont which is conveniently located rigth next to the European Commission building in the heart of the European district of Brussels.
