Moving the BSR Programme 2014-2020 forward

Draft Operational Programme 2014-2020 for the Baltic Sea Region will be put to the approval of Joint Programming Committee tomorrow.

After more than one and a half years of intense work, the Programme countries of the Baltic Sea Region Programme 2014-2020 will meet tomorrow to agree on the first complete Programme draft.

If the Programme countries agree that it is ready, the programme will be put to public consultations in the beginning of 2014 together with the strategic environmental assessment. After the consultations final amendments will be made before the planned final approval in May 2014. The Programme shall be submitted to the EU Commission in mid-2014 when all countries have submitted their written agreement to the Programme. An approval is expected in autumn 2014.

The 5th meeting of the Joint Programming Committee (JPC) will take place from 3-4 December in Tallinn. Back-to-back, the Monitoring Committee of the Baltic Sea Region Programme 2007-2013 will meet to review recent Programme activities such as the project cluster initiatives and the overall performance of the fund management.
