New thresholds for procurement entered into force as of 1st January 2010
EU Commission (DG BUDG) informed about a change in thresholds for procurement. The new (lowered) thresholds are applicable as of 1st January 2010. These concern:
- EUR 125.000 instead of EUR 133.000 for procurement of supplies and services (except for those services covered by the next point);
- EUR 193.000 instead of EUR 206.000 for procurement of research and development services (category 8 of Annex IIA of the Public Procurement Directive 2004/18/EC) and services such as hotel, restaurant, transport, personnel, security, education, cultural, health and social services (those listed in Annex IIB of the same Directive);
- EUR 4.845.000 instead of EUR 5.150.000 for the procurement of works.
The thresholds were amended in the Public Procurement Directive by Commission Regulation N° 1177/2009, adopted on 30 November 2009.
