Introduction to the Fruit Basket, project Output Library
The Baltic Sea Region (BSR) Programme 2007-2013 financed in total 90 transnational cooperation projects covering a wide scope of themes. In order to share the work done with you, the Programme has created this online basket of projects – a Fruit Basket if you will (formally called the Output Library).
The Fruit Basket may be used for diverse purposes. For example, when you have a specific challenge in your area with regard to transport, you may want to find out what has been done previously in that area and you will most likely find useful documents that would increase your knowledge in the specific topic. Take your pick!

Biogas bus use and operational experiences
Date:
Mar 2013
Description:
The paper covers operational experiences from biogas bus use, evaluation of technological development and verification of biogas emissions. The Baltic Biogas Bus project has specified the requirements for producers to meet high expectations from biogas bus producers. Emission measurements provide clear evidence of the positive environmental benefits of using biogas as transport fuel. Technological development among producers and improved knowledge among end users show that the cost of using biogas buses is now at par with conventional diesel buses.

Evaluation tool for wider economic effects of railway investments
Date:
Feb 2014
Description:
Computable General Equilibrium models (CGE) are powerful tools in the assessment of economic impacts of infrastructure investments, but the use of these models is expensive and requires specific skills, software and knowledge. This developed tool (for Sweden & Finland) is an accessible tool that is simple to use but gives results that are based on comprehensive CGE-modelling. The wider economic impacts calculated by this tool are supplementary to the results of a standard project assessment (CBA).

Report on structure and amount of Baltic maritime transportation
Date:
Aug 2012
Description:
The report clearly shows, how from the year 2000 onwards Russia had become the main driver of transport growth. Big parts of cargo handling in Estonia and Latvia is transit mainly for Russia and including transit through Finland, nearly one third of all cargoes handled in Baltic Sea ports is foreign trade from Russia. Therefore, Russian economic development has a major impact on the development of maritime transport in the Baltic Sea, and through the associated infrastructure development, its accessibility.
